sometime yesterday he tied a rubber band around the sprayer handle in my kitchen sink. when i turned on the water today, i could've been the winner of a wet t-shirt contest.
i tried to be mad at him, but it was so hard (for all of us) to be. he really didn't mean to soak me. the reason why he did it, he explained, was that he was trying to find a better way to spray the food off his plate without having to touch the spray nozzle. go figure, my little genius. the best part was seeing the expression on his face when he realized what he had done, and, of course, the smile only widened when D1 (big brother) applauded. "oh man, that's GREAT!"
so. here's the part i've been too embarrassed to share all day. after the giggles, i patted my chest dry, and proceeded to start washing the dishes again. i turned on the faucet, and was instantly soaked.
again.
apparently, even though i took the rubber band off the handle, the mineral depostits that have been accumulating in the nozzle kept the depressor in the "spray" position.
the cool thing was, i actually thought it was funny. embarrassing, but funny. there was a time not too long ago when i wouldn't have thought it very funny... at all. and oh, what a joy to see those times fading for me. in me.
low:
- have been eating big dinners for the past 2 nights. ok, that's it! no eating out for at least 2 wks!
- still struggling with the smoking habit. it's getting better. i'm down to 1-2 per day.
- seeing the future issues of my baby goats growing in their little petri dishes. makes me wonder what i can do to change potential damage. also makes me wonder what i myself do to cause issues in them. blindly, it would be, but there nonetheless.
- missing a dear friend very very much. i wish there had been more that i could've done for her. i hope she isn't too lost up in wonderland...
- having to put a mouse out of it's misery
- explaining to D2, D3, and D4 why they cannot leave marshmallows all over the house for the mouse that has been running around our place.
- listening to shogun talking to my boys about the complex rules of Yu-Gi-Oh!. i know it's hard sometimes to relate to boys. girls can and will talk about anything. and they are so cute and easy to handle. i feel so fortunate to have friends that interact with all of my kids so well. i know they can be difficult.
it was sooo funny when we all were leaving to eat today. i thought shogun and the boys would like to ride to the restaraunt together. so the boys dove into lotus' car and she got ready to ride with me and the girls.
"be good. be quiet. do not be too rowdy in the car, shogun has to pay attention to the road, so no messing around."
"ok, mom. we'll be good. i promise."
yes, my first-born actually said "i promise."
i said to shogun, "ok, i just gave the boys death-threats, so you should be ok..."
he goes to get into the driver's side, lifts the handle, and finds it locked! D1 locked him out of the car! i could hear them cracking up even with the windows rolled up...
- this has been a really good 5 day block with my kids (so far).
- we all went shopping today, and it was nice to but clothes for the ones that need it. and hour and a half in Target, and no shit, we came out alive!! they were pretty good!!
- i think i did fairly good on a recent test in anatomy. thank you all who have been listening to me yap about my studies, and discussing it with me. it really helps me retain information. i am very grateful.
i spied:
- a deformed brow
- a psycho lotus scaring (scarring...) the shit out of me...
- a timeout
- sensibility
- a dumbass brat
- an unlocked door
